0 Train Service to Jakarta Still Hampered by Floods

Train service to Jakarta from its satellite cities remained hampered by floods on Friday morning, affecting tens of thousands of commuters. State-owned railway company KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) announced via its Twitter account that the train from Serpong to Tanah Abang was only traveling to Palmerah station in West Jakarta, as the Tanah Abang station was still flooded.

The trains from Bogor, Depok and Bekasi were only traveling to Manggarai, as Kota station was still also flooded.  The train from Manggarai to Tanah Abang is not operating as the collapsed West Flood Canal dike destroyed and inundated the tracks between Manggarai and Sudirman stations. The train from Tangerang to Duri station in West Jakarta is not operating as well. KAI spokesman Mateta Rizalulhaq said on Thursday that KCJ could only fix the railway after government fixes the dike, which could take one to two days.
