0 Floods hit Buleleng

Hundreds of houses in Buleleng were inundated after heavy rains hit the island’s northern regency on Sunday night. According to the regency’s disaster mitigation agency, there were no fatalities in the incident. The agency’s head, I Putu Dana, said on Monday that the flood in Pejarakan village was the second during the last two weeks.

“The flood forced villagers to flee and swept away home appliances,” he said, as quoted by Antara news agency, explaining that the flood happened because the village did not have proper drainage. The agency also recorded that out of the hundreds of houses that were flooded, six in Goris hamlet and another in Banyuwedang hamlet were badly damaged. The flood also caused a school fence and a house in Patas village to collapse.
