0 Crossing unaffected by bad weather

The ongoing bad weather has yet to negatively affect the Sanur-Nusa Penida crossing. “Fast boats are operating normally and there has not been any disruption to scheduled departures and arrivals,” Sanur wharf ticket officer Wayan Pastika said Saturday.

There are ten scheduled fast boat departures from Sanur to Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan in a single day, with the first departure taking place at 7 a.m. and the last at 5 p.m. The price for a fast boat ticket is Rp 75,000 (US$6.16) per passenger. Traditional outriggers currently only serve cargo shipments.

The number of passengers traveling to these three islets via Sanur can reach 500 people per day. “They prefer fast boats because the trip will only take 30 minutes, while a trip on a traditional outrigger could take up to two hours,” Sanur harbor master Wayan Wijaya said.
