Bali generated US$7.95 million in revenue from the export of limestone statues in the period between January and October 2013. The export value dropped by 16.72 percent compared to the same period in 2012, which reached $9.55 million.
I Ketut Teneng, spokesperson for the provincial administration, said that limestone statue exports contributed 2.09 percent to Bali’s total export revenue of $398.75 million in 2013. Limestone statues were produced mostly in Ubud, Batubulan and other villages in Gianyar regency. The statues were shipped to the US (27.50 percent); Japan (4.79 percent); Australia (5.04 percent) and Singapore (4.20 percent).
